Meet The Team

At The Spiers Centre we believe our people are our strength and integral part of all aspects of our organisation. Their individual commitments, skills, compassion and dedication make it possible for us to achieve our vision of strong, caring and resilient communities. To us, “valuing people” is not just a slogan, it's an integral part of how we deliver our services.

Our Staff

Chief Executive Officer

Neil Starkie

Neil Starkie joined Spiers Centre in January 2025 as the new CEO.

Originally hailing from the UK, Neil spent 25 years as a chartered surveyor working at the forefront of the UK's distribution and industrial markets advising multiple international, national and local organisations on property strategy.

Since making the move to Perth with his wife, 2 boys and 2 dogs in 2013, Neil has worked in the not-for-profit sector combining his extensive commercial experience with a passion for addressing social disadvantage, homelessness and having a positive impact on the community.

Neil is a keen, motivated individual who is people focused, dedicated to building a positive work culture and environment for all.

Outside of work, you can normally find Neil either with a flat white in hand walking his 2 Golden Retrievers at the local parks or at hockey grounds across the metro area, either playing in his masters team or watching his sons (also with a flat white in hand), or listening to his ever-growing vinyl collection of music from the 80's to now.
